Single sellers, couples, families, and beneficiaries each have circumstances that will inform their priorities. I listen to my sellers and communicate regularly so there is never any wondering about what’s going on.

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has new rules that took effect on August 17, 2024.

How will they affect you?

  • Written buyer-broker agreements

    Buyers must sign a written agreement with their broker before touring a property. This agreement can be for a single property or for broader representation. The agreement must include the compensation terms, such as the amount or rate of compensation.

  • Buyer-set broker commissions

    Buyers are responsible for setting their broker's commission in the initial agreement.

  • Removal of compensation information from MLS listings

    Broker compensation information is no longer included in NAR-affiliated Multiple Listing Services (MLSs).

  • Disclosure of broker commissions

    MLS participants must disclose that broker commissions are negotiable and not set by law.
